More about Barbara's Dancing Tonight!
The
studio, at 1921 Sycamore Lane, features 1000 square feet of hand-laid
parquet in a U-shaped configuration comprising two large floors.
State-of-the-art sound system, full-wall mirrors, versatile
lighting, and sumptuous decor by Richard Berteaux contribute
to a stimulating environment for dance instruction and an
elegant setting for formal parties and balls.
Our
kitchenette is equipped with a refrigerator, and is stocked
with beverages and snacks. All of this is completely at the
disposal of students and guests. From the bowls of candy in
the foyer to the photos of students on the walls, everything
says, "This place is yours!"
Despite
the prevailing sense of informality, Dancing Tonight is a
place where dancers work hard to improve their skills. A video
camera is available to tape lessons and performances, and
students can gather around the monitor to study their own
progress. From early morning to well past midnight, students
come by to practice, consult on choreography, and just hangout.
It's a friendly place.
Objectives
Our
objectives here at Barbara's Dancing Tonight are simple and
straightforward. The goal: make ballroom dancing fun, accessible
and social.
While we do provide many of ours students exceptional training
in the more rigorous aspects of ballroom (like competition
and exhibition), the bulk of our students come to our school
because they recognize the unique emphasis that we place on
the social aspects of social dancing. We have successfully
created an environment where dancing is always a fun, safe,
and enriching experience whether you have two left feet, are
a seasoned performer, or are simply trying to survive an obligatory
social event.
At
BDT we take pride in the fact that we offer not only superior,
in-depth instruction in Ballroom, Latin & Swing technique,
but also that we do it through a class structure carefully
organized to fit easily into even the busiest of lifestyles
without putting a strain on the pocketbook. Come to our studio
and discover for yourself all that we have to offer.
