Lessons, whether private or group, are important means of acquiring

Practice Class
Etiquette at Barbara's Dancing Tonight
The
Friday night practice classes are a learning experience. Beginners must
not be embarrassed to prevail upon the patience of more advanced
students.
It
is neither more nor less appropriate for a woman to ask a man
for a dance than for a man to ask a woman. (Other combinations
are at the discretion of those involved.)
It
is not acceptable to continue dancing with the same person or
group of people when others are conspicuously under-solicited.
People who do not wish to be asked to dance should stay away
from the dance floor; those who stand or sit around the floor
will be assumed eager to participate but too shy to ask, and
others should feel obligated to ask them for a dance.
