Noises Off
November 8 and 9 (Sunday/Monday) at 7pm

NOISES OFF Character Breakdown:

All of the characters are British and speak with standard British dialects. Throughout the course of the play, they are rehearsing and performing in a bedroom farce entitled Nothing On. The first act takes place during their final dress rehearsal; in the second act, they have been performing the play for a month; the third act takes place about a month-and-a-half later.

LLOYD DALLAS (director of Nothing On): 30s-50s, urbane and frazzled director, gets a little too friendly with members of his cast and staff

GARRY LEJEUNE (plays Roger in Nothing On): 20s-40s, leading man type, having a relationship (of sorts) with Dotty, has trouble finishing his thoughts, acts before he thinks

BROOKE ASHTON (plays Vicki in Nothing On): 20s-30s, a novice actress whose previous experience may have been in soft-core porn, spends a lot of the show in her underwear, plays a clueless sexpot in Nothing On (which isn’t a stretch for her)

POPPY NORTON-TAYLOR (assistant stage manager of Nothing On): 20’s, Lloyd’s put-upon assistant with whom he previously has had a sexual liaison

FREDERICK FELLOWES (plays Philip in Nothing On): 30s-50s, insecure and emotionally fragile actor, always trying to help and always making it worse

BELINDA BLAIR (plays Flavia in Nothing On): 30s-50s, motherly and sweet (sometimes to a fault), a gossip who is always getting in the middle of others’ emotional entanglements

TIM ALLGOOD (stage manager of Nothing On): 20s-30s, oppressed stage manager and all-around techie, lives his life in desperate need of some sleep

SELSDON MOWBRAY (plays the Burglar in Nothing On): 50s-70s, ex-Shakespearean actor a little down on his luck (probably due to his drinking), somewhat hard of hearing.

Auditions will consist of readings from the script. Please be prepared to read using a standard British dialect.

The role of Dotty Otley has been cast. All other roles will be cast from auditions
