Experience Germany at the Yolo County Historical Museum:

Luna Vista Rotary to sponsor an Oktoberfest September 26, 2008

Can’t afford a trip to Germany? Want to experience the annual Munich Oktoberfest without leaving Woodland? Opportunity has arrived!

Oktoberfest dancing at the Gibson House (YCHM)
Traditional German beer, food and entertainment will transform the Gibson House Museum (512 Gibson Road in Woodland) into a night in Germany September 26th from 5 to 9 p.m.

The community is invited to join the Luna Vista Rotary Club for an evening of traditional German music and dancing by Freddy Pfeffer and the Bavarian Dancers. The toe tapping entertainment will be accompanied by traditional German sausages, sauerkraut, potato salad, and strudel (catered by Little Prague) to create an authentic Oktoberfest. A no host bar will provide German beers and wine from local purveyors.

Tickets are $35 per person and include food and entertainment. (Prices may change)

Last year’s event raised $15,000 toward the construction of a new building on the grounds of the Museum to house restrooms and a bridal changing room. The new building will open the facility for larger functions and weddings throughout the year. This year’s event will help fund the completion of this project.

To purchase tickets call the Gibson House at 530-666-1045 or Susan Simon at 530-758-8435. Luna Vista Rotary members also have tickets available.

The Luna Vista Rotary Club is a community service organization which aims to make a difference in the community. The Club meets Thursday evenings at 6:00 pm at the Holiday Inn Express in Woodland.
